Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: September 16, 2026

Kehilas Bais Yisroel (Congregation Beth Israel SPI) wants every payment to be one you intended to make. If something was charged in error, tell us and we will make it right. This policy explains how.

Donations

A charitable contribution is a completed gift, and we generally do not refund donations. We do, however, refund a donation made in error — a duplicate payment, the wrong amount, an unintended recurring gift, or a payment you did not authorize. Contact us within 90 days of the charge and we will refund it in full.

Membership, honors, and account charges

If an invoice is wrong, contact the office and we will correct it. Where you have paid more than you owed, you choose whether the difference is refunded to the card or payment method you used or left as a credit on your account for future charges.

Simcha Hall bookings

Cancellation terms for a hall booking — including how much of a deposit is refundable and by what date — are set out in the written booking confirmation you receive from the office, and those terms govern that booking. If you need to cancel or move a date, contact the office as early as you can; we work with families to reschedule wherever the calendar allows.

Recurring payments and payment plans

You may cancel a recurring donation or an installment payment plan at any time by emailing or calling the office. Cancellation takes effect immediately and stops every future scheduled charge. Payments already completed before you cancelled are handled under the sections above.

How to request a refund

Email info@kehilasbaisyisroel.org, call (516) 791-1001, or write to us through the contact page. Please include the name the payment was made under, the date, the amount, and — if you have it — the last four digits of the card. We respond within 3 business days. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method and typically take a further five to ten business days to appear on your statement.

Disputes and chargebacks

If you do not recognize a charge from us, please contact us before filing a dispute with your bank. Nearly every case is a charge made under a spouse’s or family member’s name, and we can identify it and resolve it the same day — usually faster than a bank dispute would.

Returns

We do not sell or ship physical goods, so there is nothing to return. Everything we accept payment for is described on our payments and fees page.
