This website is operated by Kehilas Bais Yisroel, a synagogue in Cedarhurst, New York. We keep things simple: we do not run advertising, we do not sell or share your information, and we do not use analytics or tracking cookies.
If you submit a form on this site (such as the contact or Simcha Hall inquiry forms), we receive the information you enter — typically your name, contact details, and your message. We use it only to respond to your inquiry and manage shul business. It is stored securely with our hosting providers and is not shared with third parties for marketing.
If you choose to enable notifications (for example, candle-lighting reminders), your browser creates a push subscription that we store so we can deliver those messages. You can unsubscribe at any time using the bell icon in the footer or through your browser settings, and the subscription is removed.
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. The site stores a small amount of data in your browser’s local storage strictly for functionality — for example, remembering that you dismissed a notice so we don’t show it again. This data never leaves your device.
The site is hosted on Vercel and uses Google Firebase for data storage (schedules, events, photos, and form submissions). These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. Zmanim and calendar data are retrieved from the Hebcal public API; no personal information is sent with those requests.
This site is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
To ask about your information or request that we delete something you submitted, contact us at info@kehilasbaisyisroel.org or through the contact page.
If our practices change (for example, if we ever add analytics), we will update this page and the date above.
